New Tables in Jakarta & Bandung

Dear readers,

Indonesia's protests against the new jobs law enter the second week as hundreds of workers held a rally in Jakarta on Monday until late last night to urge President Joko Widodo to repeal the controversial new jobs law. Demonstrations were held in cities across the country last week soon after the bill's passage with chaotic scenes in some areas and nearly 6,000 people arrested.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has once again relaxed large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) in the capital, starting another transitional phase on Monday until at least Oct 25. The decision was made based on the number of daily new cases, the daily mortality rate, and the trend of total active cases that has flattened during the past few weeks, as well as the increased hospital capacity for COVID-19 patients. Check out this article if you're wondering what are the things that have got the green light during this second edition of the transition period.

One way to measure a community's resilience and optimism is through how many new businesses that keep on growing, despite a worldwide crisis that we're currently facing. Case in point, these new restaurants in Jakarta and Bandung is proof that comes rain, shine, or a pandemic, we will persevere.

We've also compiled a list of our favorite villages in Indonesia that's worth the extra mile. Read more about it here and see which ones appeal to you the most.

While these Bali accommodations are far from the image of a village, it sure gives just as much rejuvenation and contentment for the thirsty mind and body. Pick out your favorite and if you're lucky, you might be able to secure a special rate to be enjoyed in the near future.

As always, don't forget to stay check out social media channels for the latest updates, promotions, and day to day inspirations. Stay well, stay healthy, and have a great rest of the week!
