Can you imagine Jakarta to Bandung in just 40 minutes? The idea might sound like a pipe dream at first, but it is actually closer to reality than what we think. Facing uncertainties at the start of this year, the project, a China-Indonesia joint venture, got the green light last September and was marked with an installation of the first 900-ton box girder that will be part of the train's elevated structure. Set to finish in 2021, the train will connect Halim Perdanakusuma International end at Tegalluar Station, southeast of Bandung and when finished, will be Indonesia's first high speed train. Which means that there is no more excuses for us to not get acquainted with what Bandung has to offer. And this Christmas, the fast train may not be ready yet, but these festive parties might be a good excuse for spending the holidays in the cool city. From Bali, we take you exploring new dining spots in the island in Bali New Tables December 2019 as well as the iconic Seminyak spot Moonlite Kitchen's reopening this month that unveils a brand new look. In Jakarta, the buzz circles around the long-awaited 2019 Djakarta Warehouse Project with its massive line up including the biggest names in dance music: Calvin Harris, Martin Garrix, Skrillex, and Zedd. Tickets are still on sale at www.djakartawarehouse.com. Last but not least, squeeze in one or two parties or gathering this month before closing the year for good, as well as consulting our list for the best Christmas brunches and dinners in Jakarta to skip the hassle of hosting a full on Christmas dinner party.
