Dear Readers, Finally, some uplifting news that all of us could use: after Pfizer that reported a promising trial of their COVID-19 vaccine last week, another major U.S pharmaceutical company, Moderna, has announced that its experimental vaccine was 94.5% effective in preventing COVID-19 infection. The news, along with Joe Biden's presidential election win, have propelled stock prices in Jakarta Stock Exchange to their highest since March. As the government seeks plans revive Indonesia's tourism sector that has been decimated by the Covid-19 pandemic, President Joko Widodo is urging to open the ASEAN 'travel bubble' or the Asean Travel Corridor Arrangement (TCA) as early as March 2021, the Jakarta Globe reports. The travel scheme would include the establishment of temporary fast lanes and health checks on departure and arrival. Currently, Indonesia has a bilateral travel arrangement in place with Singapore, that allow business and official travelers to cross borders without having to quarantine. Speaking of reopening, Indonesia's Minister of Education and Culture Nadiem Makarim has given the green light for regional governments to allow face-to-face learning activities in all school zones, starting January 2021, as reported by CNN Indonesia. Previously, in August 2020, Makarim had started allowing schools in green and yellow COVID-19 infection zones to reopen. For many who celebrates the traditional American holiday, like any other celebrations that we've had to adjust this year, this year's Thanksgiving is going to be different.
